School Rules

  • Students Are expected to reach the school before the bell rings for the Assembly.
  • Students should be neatly dressed. The school uniform is to be worn on every working day. Students who are sloppily dressed or not in uniform will be sent back home. Non-Sikh Boys should get their hair cut regular intervals. Sikh Boys must wear turbans in Class IX and above.
  • Girls should plait their hair if it is below the shoulders. Short hair should be neatly cut and pinned.
  • Students escorted to school must never leave school before their escorts arrive. In case of delay, in the arrival of the escort the student must report to the school office. Those who go home alone should be prompt in returning straight home. Parents who are sending someone else to collect the child should get the pass made from office. This pass is to be essentially sent alongwith the person coming to collect the child.
  • A student must carry his almanac to school everyday. It must have his/her photograph and identify information complete and signed by parents.
  • Students are expected to respect the property of others. This includes respect for school property. No students should damage any school furniture, write or draw anything on walls and furniture or in any way damage things belonging to others. Damage done even by accident would be reported at once to the class teachers. Any damage done will be made good by the one who causes it.
  • The school is not responsible for goods lost. It is advisable not to bring valuable articles (like expensive watches or Cell Phones, Pagers, Transistors, Cameras etc.) to school.
  • Students should be polite wherever they go. They should greet their teachers when they meet them Bullying and use of foul language are punishable offences.
  • School reserves the right to suspend or take strict disciplinary action against a student whose diligence or progress in studies is constantly unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to other students.
  • Parents/guardians are required not to meet their wards or teachers in the classrooms during school hours without the permission of the Principal.
  • The name of the child will be struck off the roll if the default in monthly fee exceeds two months. The school may at its discretion re-admit the child after payment of dues and admission fee.


  • The school makes every efforts possible for proper growth and development of your ward.
  • It would greatly help your ward if you monitor his/her work regularly so that the student may not become careless towards his studies. You may also write to the teacher if your ward has any problem.
  • Almanac is an important link between parents and the school. It is requested that this should be given your attention daily. Sign the remarks if any and take the action as needed.
  • Parent Teacher meetings are held regularly and they provide an excellent platform for interaction between you and the teachers.
  • See that your ward carries Books. exercise books according to the Time table for that day.
  • See that he/she is prepared for the tests, do sign the test answer sheets.
    1. Check the haircut, uniform and punctuality of your ward in the morning.
    2. Your ward should be instructed to be careful about his/her belongings. There should be a name tag on their blazers and sweaters. Expensive articles like transistors, calculators etc. should not be brought to school. They are also not allowed to wear jewellery in school. In case of violation of this rule the article will be confiscated. The school bears no responsibility for articles los in school. In case of a loss a letter giving details of the loss may be sent to the Class Teacher.
    3. If you ward is to leave from school he/she must make up for all the work missed by him.
    4. If your ward is to leave the school campus during school hours the guardian should send an application to office and obtain gate pass. This must be presented to the class teacher at the time of leaving.
    5. If your ward has been absent from school, an application signed by the Guardian is to be submitted.
    6. As far as possible, once a child has come to school, he/she should not be asked to come home on a half day's leave.
    7. Students would get their Report Cards signed by their parents/guardians within five days of the receipt of the Report Cards and return them to the Class teachers. If lost, a fine will be imposed as per rules.


  • The school gate will close as soon as the bell rings.
  • All late arrivals if they arrive after the gate has been closed, will be taken in after 20 minutes.
  • Three late arrivals consecutively would lead to the students being sent back home.


  • One clear calendar month's notice in writing or a month's fees in lieu of such notice must be given before a pupil can be withdrawn.
  • If a child is withdrawn immediately after admission a month's fees and a month's proportionate annual charges are to be paid.
  • Those who leave the school in May, must in all cases, pay the fees for the month of June.
  • Transfer certificate will not be issued until all dues of the school are settled.
  • Students can be asked to leave the school on the following grounds.
    1. Indiscipline
    2. Unsatisfactory progress in academics.
    3. Detention or repeated detentions in a class. As a rule only those students will be retained on the roll of this school who has taken the school leaving examination and are under 18 years of age.
  • Resident student will not be allowed to switch over from residential status to day scholar status. Only in cases, where parents are transferred to DehraDun such application will be entertained with documentry evidence.
  • Incase after admission of resident student, parents wish to withdraw, in such cases the balace imprest amount will be refunded and after deducting two months boarding fee the balance will be refunded.


  • Students who have been sick should bring a medical certificate from their doctor on joining school. A copy of the certificate is to be submitted in the school.
  • Student, absent without any information to the school, for a month, the name will be struck off the rolls.
  • Parents should fill up the "Record for Non-Attendance" for each consecutive day the student is absent from school. Starting the reasons for absence.
  • Students, who require urgent medical attention during school hours may be sent by the teacher to a hospital under information to parents/guardian.
  • No student who has been absent on the previous day will be admitted to the class without a letter from the parent addressed to the Class Teacher, stating the reasons for the absence.
  • Leave for going out of station should be approved by the Principal prior to proceedings on leave.
    In case of emergency-Parents are informed and they have to report to the Principal. They are not to go to the classes directly.
  • A student returning to school after suffering from an infectious or contagious disease, should produce a doctor's certificate permitting him to do so.
    Students suffering from the following diseases must observe the prescribed period of quarantine before returning to school:-
    1. Chicken Pox - Till complete falling of the scabs
    2. Cholera - Till the child is completely well
    3. Measles - Two weeks after the rash disappears.
    4. Mumps - Until the sweling has gone : about one month.
    5. Jaundice - Six weeks after recovery.
  • It is compulsory for the students to complete 80% of the attendance in the academic session to make them eligible to sit for final examination. But class IX, X, XI and XII students must have an average of 90% attendance before the examination.

The percentage, however, may be relaxed on genuine medical grounds.
